Client: Flight-History.com/Ghosts of Aviation · September 2001

This latest design for the Flight-History.com website used navy blues and khaki tans. (I used these exact same colours when I designed pages for a corresponding brochure that discussed the prints and artists associated with Flight-History.com.) As noted before, I felt that these colours gave the site a military feel, historical in nature. I also used a lot of concentric circles, in the framework of the design, accompanying graphics, and the dropcaps which are used to highlight leading blocks of text. These concentric circles looked both like the movement of propellers or military insignia and reinforced the overall site design.

The print information page was a lot of fun to lay out. I got to balance the primary historical information about the print against the details of the print size, paper, cost, etcetra. I also wanted people viewing the prints to be able to zoom in on various significant details. Hence the detail shot within the crosshairs. Clicking on this brings up a detailed "zoom shot".
