Scion Ads: Games of the Underground feature Client: GamePro/IDG Entertainment • 2006
Scion sponsored three special article features over the period of a year, and I created ads pointing to the special features. The second one was called Games of the Underground, which featured articles on games who were exploding into the mainstream as underground phenomenoms. Since Scion had recieved the first set of ads quite favourably, we chose to reuse and revamp our DJ guy and place him knocking at a club door. (And suddenly he grew legs and gots some shades for this campaign.) The club door was painted in PhotoShop and exported as an asset into Flash.
There was also an advertorial unit with, which was designed to match the content feature box of the old version of Games.net. By mousing over the left side, it expands to show whatever logos or message Scion wanted displayed. On the 2005/2006 games.net site, this was a common advertising component.
