Scion Ads: Masters Behind The Music feature Client: GamePro/IDG Entertainment • 2006
Scion sponsored three special article features over the period of a year, and I created ads pointing to the special features. The first one was called Masters Behind The Music, which discussed the musicians who make video game music. I ended up making two sets of ads, one featuring a female DJ, and one featuring a male DJ. The DJs, turntables, and space-invaders-as-musical-notes were drawn in Illustrator and exported into Flash, where they were animated.
There was also two advertorial units, which are designed to match the content feature box of the old version of Games.net. The bottom-most advertorial unit was actually shown on the feature page. By mousing over their left side, they expand to show whatever logos or message Scion wanted displayed. On the 2005 games.net site, this was a common advertising component.
