Video Icons Client: GamePro/IDG Entertainment • 2006
While at GamePro, I would often create graphics for our video producer. This group of six shows categories we used to on the second-to-last version of Games.net: FANBOY, HOT, LOOK, PWNED, WOOT, and WTF. (The pink background is the key-out color for the purposes of inserting it into the videos. It doesn't show up in the final product. Also, the font colour for WTF and PWNED varies slightly because white didn't show up well against their animations.) FANBOY was supposed to focus on the hardcore gamer community. Naturally, they wanted a fanboy sort of illustration. HOT discussed popular games. I created a devil girl throwing the horns for this one. LOOK was originally supposed to focus on our video productions, which had just started to gain momentum. PWNED is a category celebrating schadenfreude evidently, although sometimes we also used it for anything that involved a lot of explosions. WOOT is kinda self-explanatory, but basically revolved around video game news we wanted to celebrate. And WTF....um....that one kind of evolved as an inside joke. Also self-explanatory. The icons on the bottom were associated with articles and video links. On average the Flash versions took about half an hour to forty-five minutes each.
